The Oklahoma Sooners are now 1-4 in SEC play, with losses to the Tennessee Volunteers, Texas Longhorns, South Carolina Gamecocks, and Ole Miss Rebels. Their lone SEC win came in a barn burner to a very bad Auburn Tigers team.

This season is not at all going how fans or media expected it to go. Now, we didn't expect this team to be a championship contender, or anything crazy like that, but we did expect this team to be a team that sits near the top of the SEC, maybe right behind the powerhouses.

Let's not forget this is their first year in the most prestigious conference in college sports. There were always going to be bumps along the way. But, injuries, poor offensive scheme, bad quarterback play, and bad offensive line play have completely flipped this season on its head.

Yet, they still aren't giving up.

When you have a season like the one the Sooners have been having, it's easy to give up. It's very easy to just chalk the season up as a waste and look forward to next year. Head coach Brent Venables isn't letting that happen, and this team isn't losing faith in themselves.

“They haven’t lost their belief," Venables said after the loss to the Ole Miss Rebels. "You don’t want them to lose their belief… We have to go right back and learn from it.”

The Sooners' playoff hopes are pretty far gone now. In fact, there is no possible way they make it. So you would think the team would have given up by now considering their original hopes and aspirations being dead.

But, this team is resilient. Hopefully, we start to see that in their play down the stretch, as they at least try to make a bowl game and have a winning season.
