The Oklahoma Sooners are on a bit of a hot streak in recruiting for their class of 2026, with three commits in the last ten days. On Friday, the Sooners pulled off a coup in recruiting Florida defensive lineman Brian Harris, beating out several other blue bloods to secure his commitment.
Now, the Sooners are once again pursuing another player in the Southeast, this time on the opposite side of the ball. Oklahoma is in hot pursuit of 2026 wide receiver Dallas Dickerson out of Georgia. Dickerson is the 30th-ranked recruit in the state and a top-500 recruit in the class.
While that might not sound impressive from a recruiting standpoint, the Sooners are impressed with his film and status. Dickerson took home the state championship in 4A track and field, and that speed pops on his film. He is constantly blowing past defenders on film.
The Sooners currently only have one receiver committed in the 2026 class, four-star Daniel Odom, so they need to continue filling out this group.
Dickerson's speed is a difference-maker that could help the Sooners in multiple areas. Not only could it add an explosive element to the team that was missing in 2024, but he could also be a major contributor on special teams with that kind of speed. Oklahoma has missed that as a returner and even as a gunner. Upgrades at underrated spots like that are often the difference between wins and losses.
The Sooners have a visit set with Dickerson on June 6th, which is a major recruiting date for Oklahoma. Several of their top priority recruits, including quarterback Bowe Bentley, will be in Norman that day, which speaks to their interest in securing Dickerson's commitment.
Other SEC schools, including Kentucky and Florida, have entered the fray to battle the Sooners over Dickerson. Oklahoma will have to beat them, as well as schools like Nebraska, Indiana, and Wisconsin, to bring Dickerson to Norman for his career.
