The Oklahoma Sooners roster in 2025 will look significantly different than it did in 2024. They had some of the most transfer outs in the entire country, and the most in the SEC. So, there will be plenty of new faces around campus this fall.
And that means there will be plenty of new people to root for — not just players, but the people that those players are as well. There are some guys on this team who have really worked hard for everything they have and really to make something out of nothing. Rooting for the story sometimes is just as important as rooting for the player because they are good. Luckily, the Sooners have some good guys on this squad, as they did the last one — guys that are sure to make a great first impression.
The Sooners lost a lot of guys in the transfer portal but they also gained some. One of them is from the SEC already, in wide receiver Isaiah Sategna, the former Arkansas Razorback. He's been at spring camp tearing it up, and just from some of the clips we have seen, he has the perfect personality that fans will be attracted to. He could be a fan favorite in 2025.
And, to make things even better, he could surprise a ton of people in 2025 as one of the best receivers on the team.
Isaiah Sategna is 5-foot-11 and well under 200 pounds, so it's clear that he isn't a big stocky guy. He is, though, known for his speed and playmaking ability, he’s expected to boost Oklahoma’s wide receiver group and special teams in 2025 as he was a pretty good returner at Arkansas.
He redshirted in 2022, then in 2023 played all 13 games, catching 15 passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns while returning 15 punts for 180 yards, including an 88-yard touchdown against BYU. In 2024, he started 10 of 12 games, grabbing 37 catches for 491 yards and one touchdown, with big games like 85 yards and a 58-yard score against Auburn. He also had 10 punt returns for 68 yards and three kick returns for 52 yards.
Oklahoma picked up Sategna after losing several receivers to the transfer portal post-2024. He’s one of three new wideouts added this offseason, alongside Keontez Lewis and Javonnie Gibson. With his SEC experience, elite speed from his high school track days, and a standout prep career (172 catches, 3,261 yards, 25 touchdowns), he’s a great fit for new quarterback John Mateer and returning players like Deion Burks. Sategna should help lift Oklahoma’s offense and special teams right away.
And, as we have now seen, he has the perfect personality to fit in and make fans like him.
2026 4-star running back committed to Oklahoma Sooners just got a very enticing offer from SEC foe
That would be a crazy flip.
