The Oklahoma Sooners had a big quarterback issue this year. It seems like no matter who they played, whether it was Jackson Arnold or Michael Hawkins, could get any sort of consistency going. And, that's not all on them either. The Sooners have had such bad injury luck, a terrible offensive scheme, no QB coach/coordinator, and a few other things that have hurt the production at the position as well.

This was a rough year, especially for Arnold but for both young QBs that have so much potential. For Arnold, this was supposed to be the year he took off and showed the world why he was a five-star recruit. But instead, everything just went tumbling down.

You can imagine there was always going to be a shot that Arnold would transfer after this season for a fresh start. On Thursday, he announced his decision. Arnold has decided to enter the transfer portal and play elsewhere in 2025, as have many other players so far in the few days the portal has been open.

For Arnold, he has a list of destinations he'd like to play, though, and it kind of shows how other schools view him, that he still is an elite talent. According to On3, Arnold wouldn't mind playing for the Georgia Bulldogs, Auburn Tigers, and the Mississippi State Bulldogs, where his former offensive coordinator last season, Jeff Lebby, is the head coach.

It feels like the best place for him to succeed, as a starter if he wins the job, of course, is Georgia. He would be taking over for Carson Beck, but he would like to have a QB battle in camp to win the job.
