Oklahoma Sooners quarterbacks Michael Hawkins Jr. and Jackson Arnold are handling the craziness like a pro

The Oklahoma Sooners have had a quarterback issue, which is one of the smallest things on their big list of issues on the offensive side of the ball. But, they have had a quarterback issue nonetheless. Mainly, it's been that the quarterbacks, both of them, have not been able to stop turning the ball over.
Last game, Michael Hawkins Jr. started the game against the South Carolina Gamecocks with three straight turnovers all leading to points for the opponent. Both team's offenses were barely on the field in the first five minutes, and it was already 21-0 in favor of the Gamecocks.
The Sooners have since changed back to Jackson Arnold as the starting quarterback. He came in after Hawkins Jr. did what he did, and he threw the only touchdown of the game. It was a rope to Brenan Thompson down the sideline for a big play, one of the biggest of the season if not the biggest one.
Even with all of the flipping and flopping, all of the back and forth from the bench to the starting lineup, these two young men have shown me some of the most mature young quarterback you can have on your team.
"They both have been focused on controlling what they can control. … Recognizing the need to be in the moment so they can be prepared and have a chance to be the guy," Brent Venables said on Tuesday during his press conference, as he prepares for the Ole Miss Rebels.
Against Ole Miss, we are set to see Arnold in the starting lineup, and, rightfully so. While I do think he should have been pulled against Tennessee like he was, I didn't think he ever should have been pulled indefinitely. He should have remained the starter.
Hawkins Jr. provided some great moments, but he does not have the passing talent that Arnold has, yet, anyways. But, with all of the stuff, both have gone through this year, they have both handled it so well.
