The Oklahoma Sooners have already started the transfer portal period off with a bang, bringing in a whole stable of visitors from across the country in the first weekend of the transfer portal officially being open.

They already reeled in one big fish from the SEC out of the portal on Sunday in Florida Gators tight end Hayden Hansen. On Monday, lightning struck twice for the Sooners, pulling in another large (literally) win from another SEC school, this time to bolster the trenches.

E’Marion Harris a perfect fit for Sooners

The Oklahoma Sooners already had their starting five offensive linemen likely set for the 2026 season in Michael Fasusi, Eddy Pierre-Louis, Jake Maikkula, Heath Ozaeta, and Ryan Fodje set to return from left to right tackle. However, thanks to a few portal departures and graduations, the depth on the offensive line, particularly at offensive tackle, took several hits.

That’s where Harris fits in seamlessly with the Sooners. Across his career with the Razorbacks, Harris has played at four different spots along the offensive line, taking snaps everywhere but at center. He spent the majority of the last two seasons at right tackle. That’s perfect for what Oklahoma needs in the trenches, as they are looking to add competitive depth along to help Ryan Fodje grow into the right tackle the staff thinks he can be.

Harris is a road grader in the run game, and having two seasons of experience starting in a strong offense like the ones the Razorbacks have boasted the last two seasons, particularly in 2025, is a boon for Oklahoma, who is leaning on several young players up front. Additionally, in case of an injury, Oklahoma has an experienced starter who is used to the SEC that they can rely on out there at tackle, something they’ve not had in their first two seasons in the conference.

The Sooners stay red hot in the transfer portal and have now taken steps to add solutions to two of their biggest areas of need in the offseason. I expect they’ll add a couple more names along the offensive line, particularly along the interior, as the process goes on, but getting this deal done early is a huge win for Jim Nagy, Brent Venables, and John Mateer in the 2026 season.
