The Oklahoma Sooners have had quite the rollercoaster of events the last few weeks. They have lost some staff members to lesser football programs and then gained some pretty good recruits in the transfer portal like Marvin Jones Jr. and Kendal Daniels.
But, it seems like the more staffers that leave for other jobs, the more great news we get in the portal, and it isn't stopping anytime soon. Now, the Sooners are projected and predicted to land a big-time player from one of their biggest rivals — Oklahoma State.
Sooners could land OSU LB
According to On3's predictions, the Sooners should land OSU LB Jeff Roberson, just days after landing OSU safety/linebacker Kendal Daniels.
Jeff Roberson, a linebacker from Choctaw, Oklahoma, joined the Oklahoma State Cowboys as a three-star recruit in 2020, opting for the Cowboys despite other university offers. During his time with the team, Roberson has proven his adaptability, initially excelling in special teams before stepping up as a key defensive player.
The 2024 season was particularly successful for Roberson, where he tallied 58 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, an interception, and seven quarterback pressures. His standout game was against West Virginia, where he achieved 12 tackles.
Over his four-year career with Oklahoma State, he earned recognition for his academic excellence, being named to the first-team Academic All-Big 12 in both 2021 and 2023. However, his path was not smooth; an injury forced him to sit out the entire 2022 season, but he returned strongly.
The Sooners have a chance to get him.
