The Oklahoma Sooners are set up to surprise a lot of people this season. Since head coach Brent Venables took over a few years ago, the identity of this school's football team has switched from an offensive team that scores but also gives up a lot of points, to a defensive team that a lot of people don't think will be great on the offensive side of the ball.

And, that is fair. The Sooners are going to have true sophomore quarterback Jackson Arnold starting for them, and he's a huge wildcard. He played in just seven games last year and threw a total of 69 passes, as that was when Dillon Gabriel was hurt and the Sooners participated in the bowl game.

So the concern there is valid, but it's only a matter of time until Arnold makes the media and fans switch up. The skills are there. The tools are there. Now he just needs to put it out on the field. Luckily for him, the Sooners have made his job fairly easy, and he knows that too.

"I got studs from my left all the way to my right, dudes that can go out and get the ball. Can flat out play, can flat out fly," Arnold said during fall camp.

And he's not lying either. The Sooners have some freaks on their team, especially on the offensive side of the ball. No, really, Deion Burks was listed on the freaks list put out by The Athletic. He's fast, small but extremely strong, as the dude benches 400 pounds and squats 540. And better yet, he can catch the football and get open.

Of course, Nic Anderson and Jalil Farooq are major factors, too. We know what Farooq will be, and Anderson can be a guy who plays a special role in the red zone with his size. And the list goes on and on from the tight end room to the running back room, too.

Arnold is set up to success, and he knows it.
