The Oklahoma Sooners have lost a ton of guys to the transfer portal, and quite a few offensive linemen as well. So, it's pretty clear they will have to rebuild that group this offseason. Luckily for them, they are somewhat already getting started on it, with visits being set up for coveted offensive linemen.
According to Gregg Biggs of 247 Sports, Stanford offensive lineman Luke Baklenko has a visit scheduled with Oklahoma, as well as Michigan State and Auburn.
Baklenko is a sophomore offensive lineman at Stanford University. Originally from Westlake Village, California, he attended Oaks Christian High School, where he was a three-star recruit known for his size and potential. He chose to go to Stanford over schools like Washington, UCLA, and Boston College.
As a freshman, Baklenko appeared in five games, all as a starter. In his sophomore year, he played in 11 games, indicating his growing role on the team. His physical attributes, including his height of 6'6" and weight of about 305 lbs, along with his athleticism and versatility, have been highlighted as things that interest other schools as he has now entered the transfer portal.
And, with him being at Stanford, it's obvious he is a smart guy as well.
He doesn't jump off of the paper as a guy who is elite, but there is a reason some pretty big schools want him. He is a guy that, with the right blocking scheme, the right offensive line coach, and the right players around him, can be very good.
