Oklahoma Sooners steal recruit right from under their biggest rival's feet

The Oklahoma Sooners had a legit quarterback issue this year, and that wasn't all on the two QBs who played snaps this year, more so on the offense, injuries, playcalling, and a handful of other things. But, Michael Hawkins Jr. and Jackson Arnold deserve a bit of the blame as well. So, it was evident that the Sooners needed to get at least one more guy in the room this offseason.

But, here's the fun part about Niu — they stole him right from under Oklahoma State's feet. Niu was committed to OSU, and the Sooners made Niu flip on National Signing Day, making all the craziness a bit better.
On Wednesday, Brent Venables spoke with the media at 11 AM central time to discuss the class, where the Sooners signed 17 players to help with the very young and developing talent they already had.
Venables mentioned that he loves what he sees in Niu. He thinks Niu has incredible arm talent, great fundamentals, and a good frame that needs a bit of weight and muscle added on, which shouldn't be an issue under Oklahoma's staff.
Niu may even have a shot at competing for a starting gig or direct backup based on what we saw this last year. As of right now, no one really knows what will be going on next season.
