Despite some of the challenges the Oklahoma Sooners have faced regarding losses of staff members and players transferring out, they still have a great mindset as they approach their recruiting classes of the future. The 2026 class only has three players committed, but those three players are great, and the Sooners are still pushing for more.

One of the players they do have committed is four-star quarterback Jaden O'Neal, who has been showing out this offseason so far, producing some great highlights in various aspects of competition, even in 7v7s.

There's a video going around of a throw he made in 7v7s, and let's just say the throw he made is pretty elite — a throw that not many junior quarterbacks in high school make.

Who is Sooners' 2026 QB Jaden O'Neal?

Jaden O'Neal, a standout 4-star quarterback from Narbonne High School in Harbor City, California, has quickly become one of the most-watched prospects in the 2026 class. At 6'2" and 208 pounds, O'Neal's skills have placed him among the elite, attracting offers from over 30 top-tier college football programs, including Ohio State, Miami, Florida State, and Oklahoma.

In June 2024, O'Neal decided to commit to the University of Oklahoma, drawn by the coaching staff, notably head coach Brent Venables and offensive coordinator Seth Littrell. The Sooners fired Littrell, whom O'Neal had a great relationship with, and the young QB decided that he would stay loyal to OU.

His choice was influenced by Oklahoma's storied history of having elite quarterbacks, which O'Neal sees as a pathway to the NFL, as do most high school QBs that commit to schools like OU, who have the history they do with the position.

During his sophomore season, he accumulated 2,475 passing yards and 27 touchdowns. His performances at high-profile camps like the Elite 11 Regional and Under Armour Next Camp have only continued to help put him on the map. His junior year was capped by a stellar showing in the CIF City Section Championship Game, where he threw for 400 yards and scored seven total touchdowns in just three quarters.

This is a player that has the potential to prove his four-star rating wrong.
