The Oklahoma Sooners currently do not have anyone committed for the 2027 class. They have three in the 2026 class, which is currently ranked 14th in the country. Not having anyone in the 2027 class yet isn't alarming, as a lot of teams don't have anyone. But, it's good to start recruiting now, even though it's basically a few years away.
The Sooners are doing that — recruiting, sending offers, etc, to prep their 2027 class. And, one of the guys they recently sent an offer to is going to be a really good football player.
Sooners offer Dhillon McGee
Dhillon McGee, from Red Oak, Texas, is a standout high school football recruit playing cornerback, in the class of 2027. His combination of athletic prowess and football intelligence has quickly made him a name to remember in recruiting circles. By early 2025, McGee had already secured offers from notable college programs like TCU, Utah, Arkansas, Baylor, and Oklahoma.
On the field, McGee stands out with his speed, agility, and exceptional ability to anticipate and react to plays, which makes him a crucial part of any defensive backfield. His reaction timing, paired with his fluent hips and ability to mirror wide receivers, is great at the high school level and could be good in college very early in his career. His physical talents, paired with a strong work ethic, hint at a bright future where he could significantly influence college football.
McGee is still very young, but he has a lot of technical savvy to him working that cornerback position. He knows how to keep his leverage and use his physicality without being penalized, and of course, he can back up his play with a bit of trash talk as well.
Early in his high school career, he has everything you want to see in a Sooners cornerback. He still has things to work on, but he's still so young.
