The Oklahoma Sooners are trending toward having one of the very best recruiting classes in 2027. Their 2026 class is good, but the 2027 class has the potential to finish No. 1 overall.

They also have a chance at signing a class with two five-star players, as they already have one in Cooper Hackett, and Gabriel Osborne, an in-state target, could be a five-star by signing day. But, to make sure the class gets to where it could be, the Sooners are getting some recruiting help from 2026 signee and elite defensive tackle Elija Harmon.

2026 four-star defensive tackle Elija Harmon

The Southern California native is locked in with OU, and he wants to bring as many players with him as possible in the 2027 class. Players in the 2027 class are announcing that they’ve been sent an offer from OU, and Harmon has reached out via a tweet to let them know they should go to Oklahoma.

When 2027 four-star safety Jaylen Scott tweeted that he wanted to play with 2027 QB target Jameson Roberts, Harmon tweeted that he should come to OU, saying they both know where home is. When 2027 four-star edge rusher Zane Rowe released his top-four schools with the Sooners in it, he also tweeted at Rowe to come to OU. And finally, when 2028 four-star defensive back Pole Moala tweeted he had an offer, Harmon posted a picture of the two of them and asked to “run it back.”

This is how you know a recruit or signee is really committed to the process. Harmon, who doesn’t even know if he will see the field next season, is already recruiting talent for 2027 and 2028. Now, that doesn’t mean there’s a chance he won’t transfer after 2026, but it shows that, as of right now, he’s bought into what Brent Venables is selling.
