The Oklahoma Sooners are surging toward assembling one of the most electrifying and elite recruiting classes in 2027. 2026 defensive tackle Elija Harmon is only trying to make the class even better.

This week, he tweeted at 2027 QB Jameson Roberts, the Sooners’ top remaining target at the quarterback position. A graphic showing two of the top four tackles in the 2027 class committed to OU featured a quote tweet from Harmon, tagging Roberts. The tag said, “I know you want these two protecting you!!”

While their 2026 class is good, it is the 2027 group that is generating real excitement for Oklahoma. This class has the potential to finish No. 1 overall. Notably, the Sooners already have one five-star recruit in Cooper Hackett, and in-state target Gabriel Osborne could earn five-star status by signing day.

Sooners’ 2026 defensive tackle Elija Harmon has been recruiting like crazy

The Southern California native is locked in with OU and eager to bring as many players from the 2027 class as possible. Players in the 2027 class are announcing that they’ve been sent an offer from OU, and Harmon has reached out via a tweet to let them know they should go to Oklahoma.

When 2027 four-star safety Jaylen Scott tweeted that he wanted to play with 2027 QB target Jameson Roberts, Harmon tweeted that he should come to OU, saying they both know where home is. When 2027 four-star edge rusher Zane Rowe released his top-four schools with the Sooners in it, he also tweeted at Rowe to come to OU.

And finally, when 2028 four-star defensive back Pole Moala tweeted he had an offer, Harmon posted a picture of the two of them and asked to “run it back.” This football program is in a very good place right now, especially in recruiting. And it feels like it’s only going to get better.
