The Oklahoma Sooners are thriving on the recruiting trail right now, and it’s largely because of the work they have done over the last 48 hours. Right now, they’re hosting Future Freaks, and it’s starting to look like a huge success just hours into the event.

Sooners have had four commits in the last few hours

At 1 PM Central time, the Sooners started a chain reaction. 2027 four-star quarterback Jameson Roberts commits to the Sooners, and that’s all they needed to get everything else going. Oklahoma has been hot on Roberts for some time now, visiting him frequently. They have seen something in him before anyone else did, back when he was a three-star. They set out to make him their 2027 QB, who will potentially take over when Bowe Bentley leaves. Maybe the biggest win of the 2027 class is landing the Mobile, Alabama QB.

Then, it was three-star interior offensive lineman Tyson Ross, from Kansas. The Sooners like him on the interior, and he could even be a four-star by the time the 2027 class is set to be on campus. This recruitment really started to heat up this week, when a prediction was made just a few days ago. Now, they have him locked in.

The Sooners then landed four-star safety Jaylen Scott. He’s a player they have also longed for, as he’s an elite safety that can even get in the slot a bit. He’s a player that Oklahoma could use all over the field after he’s developed as they see fit. Scott is a huge win for OU, and as you saw in the video that Scott posted on X, Venables was stoked to hear Scott committed.

To finish off the night, for now, the Sooners landed Seneca Driver, the No. 1 tight end in the 2027 class. New tight ends coach and former Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten is putting in work by snagging Driver, the 6’6 tight end and dual sport athlete from Kentucky. The Sooners beat out the Kentucky Wildcats for Driver and now have the No. 1 class by a margin.

The best part is, there’s still so much more to come.
