The Oklahoma Sooners just hosted one of their biggest recruiting events of the offseason, bringing in several of their top targets in the 2026 recruiting class for their annual Champ U BBQ.
With such a vast swath of talent coming in, the campus was buzzing.
Which 2026 recruits could the Oklahoma Sooners bring in next? I'll rank them in order of least to most likely.
I Doubt It
3-star EDGE DeAnthony Lafayette
Lafayette has been an interesting recruit to monitor for the Sooners. It's clear they like what they see in his game, but he's frequently mentioned his desire to stay closer to home (Orlando, Florida). He visited this weekend and enjoyed a fruitful visit, but I'm not sure it's enough to overcome his desire to be home.
4-star WR Jordan Clay
As much as I'd like to think that the Sooners would be in play for the top-100 recruit, I'm pretty skeptical it will happen. Clay has built a strong relationship with Baylor's staff and has already logged five visits with the Texas Longhorns. While Clay did visit the Sooners this weekend, it might be too little, too late for the San Antonio prospect.
Truly 50/50
4-star WR/TE Zachery Turner
Turner announced his commitment date over the weekend while participating in Oklahoma's Champ U BBQ. Whether that's good or bad for the Sooners is something I'm not sure about. It's a tight battle between Miami and Oklahoma for his commitment, and this one could genuinely go either way. I'm leaning towards Miami but the Sooners gained significant ground this weekend.
4-star WR Craig Dandridge
The Milton, Georgia product was a heavy favorite to join the Georgia Bulldogs' fourth-ranked recruiting class, but according to sources, Dandrige's visit with the Sooners was incredible, and Oklahoma gained a lot of ground in his recruitment. We'll see if it was enough to put them in the driver's seat, but I think it's too close, too soon to tell one way or another.
4-star EDGE Daniel Norman
Oklahoma has made a tremendous effort in his recruitment, but it's felt like Miami has been in the driver's seat the whole time. We'll see if his visit this weekend was enough for the Sooners to catch up, but it will be tough to overcome an in-state school.
I Feel Good
4-star EDGE Jake Kreul
Oklahoma's top-ranked uncommitted recruit, Kreul is a player the Sooners staff views as a building block for the future of their defense. He has long held a strong relationship with defensive ends coach Miguel Chavis, and it feels like the Sooners took a strong lead over the rest of the schools recruiting Kreul this weekend.
4-star ATH Jacob Eberhart
Nobody's visit generated more buzz this weekend than Eberhart. Oklahoma offered Eberhart way back in 2024, but he never took a visit to the Sooners until this weekend, and it reportedly blew open expectations. The fascinating multi-position athlete has plenty of schools gunning for him however. He's already visited Missouri and Nebraska and will be visiting Alabama later this week.
Still, the buzz surrounding his recruitment is pretty strong, and I like the Sooners' chances as it stands right now.
3-star ATH Braeden Presley
One of three Presley brothers who have made waves across Oklahoma high school football, Braeden Presley is the only one the Sooners have ever made a priority target. The do-it-all athlete for local powerhouse Bixby is one of the top in-state products, and he enjoyed a tremendous visit with the Sooners this weekend.
Some might be a tad skeptical, given that both of his brothers attended Oklahoma State, but I like where Oklahoma stands in his process, and I think his decision could come in fairly soon.
4-star ATH Davian Groce
While Groce didn't visit over the weekend, he is heavily connected to Oklahoma through his mom's family, and his visit on June 6th made a huge impression. I have to like where the Sooners stand here.
Send It In
3-star LB Beau Jandreau
Three-star safety Niko Jandreau got Oklahoma's hot recruiting streak started last month, and now his brother might join the party. The brothers have been a priority for this staff, and could be the third pair of brothers to join Oklahoma's roster in recent memory.
Update: Jandreau announced his commitment to the Sooners just before this article was posted
4-star OT Deacon Schmitt
I get the sense that Schmitt still wants to consider things before his June 28th commitment date, but there's been nothing but confidence on Oklahoma's side that they've done enough to sway him to join their class.
