One Sooners’ prized recruit in the 2027 recruiting class just sent a scary message to the rest of the SEC with some of his recent workout footage
The Oklahoma Sooners have the best class in the 2027 recruiting class, and Krew Jones is a huge reason why, as he showed in his workout clips, dominating offensive linemen.
The Oklahoma Sooners currently have the No. 1 recruiting class for 2027. Five-star offensive tackle Cooper Hackett and three four-star players lead the group. Landing four-star 2027 defensive end Krew Jones from Millville, Utah, only strengthens their hold on that top spot.
Sooners’ 2027 commit Krew Jones puts on a clinic
Jones is the 20th-best edge in the class and the second-best player in Utah in 2027. The Sooners landed 2026 edge rusher Dane Bathurst, who has the standard senior edge rusher size. As a junior, Jones is even bigger. That’s the kind of size and athleticism he is bringing to OU.
And he showed that recently on Twitter, in what appeared to be workout clips. Jones was throwing offensive linemen around left and right, and in one play in particular, he threw a lineman on the ground onto his backside, almost as if he was the one doing the pancaking.
At 6’4, 225, Jones has the height you like to see from SEC edge rushers. He also has long arms to match. Like all these high school kids, once they join an SEC weight-lifting program, they usually fill out and get bigger. Not long ago, we got to see Jones at an All-Star camp against other elite players, and he did well, alongside his future teammates and current Sooners edge rusher, Jake Kreul.
In the UA All-American game, Kreul was the headline as he wrecked the game, but Jones made some plays, too. He got himself a sack as well, and in a way that was pretty nice to see. Jones chased down the quarterback in the backfield as he was trying to escape the pocket.
Jones is a bit stronger and faster, and he certainly has the size, too. These two both put on a show in front of the country, showing what they’re ready to bring to the SEC. And Jones just sent a message: he will be ready for the SEC when he gets on campus.
