The Oklahoma Sooners have lacked an in-game experience for quite some time. Fans thought Oklahoma had done great, that is, until they joined the SEC.

The Sooners don’t have a stadium that seats 100 thousand like the Tennessee Volunteers, Alabama Crimson Tide, LSU Tigers, or Texas A&M Aggies. The Sooners’ stadium only seats around 80 thousand, so they have to make up for that with in-game experience.

When they traveled to other road games, specifically in the SEC this season, it was obvious just how much they were lacking. And fans have been saying this for years; it only took this season and the team playing in these insane road environments to get it.

Well, they got it, and their College Football Playoff game against Alabama on Friday had the best in-game experience they’ve ever had. Not only was the game great, but it was undeniable that Oklahoma had fixed that problem.

Sooners fix in-game experience vs. Alabama in playoff loss

Before the game started, long before actually, the Sooners started a light show. This light show actually cut the stadium lights out, so much so that the guys on the ESPN pre-game broadcast started to get a little hyped.

Then, fans in the stadium turned on their phone lights. Oklahoma then put on a light show with lasers. This light show was similar to what Tennessee did before its game against Oklahoma, if you all remember.

The biggest surprise of the day was what happened in the fourth quarter. As you all know, the Sooners have gone away from the Toby Keith fourth quarter tradition and have now gone with the 50 Cent song, “Many Men.”

This is a song about how 50 Cent was once shot, and someone attempted to kill him. Well, the Sooners’ mantra this season has been “hard to kill,” as they are a team that just does not go down without a fight. So, the song fits.

However, no one expected 50 Cent himself to come out onto the field and sing the song while wearing an Oklahoma hoodie. That’s something that hasn’t happened in a long time, or even ever. The Sooners have clearly fixed one of the biggest aspects of their game, giving them an even better home-field advantage
