On Tuesday, the Oklahoma Sooners earned a win by getting Jake Kreul, following a loss on Monday. Let’s throw it back to the day before, on Monday, when the Sooners lost 2026 wide receiver Davian Groce to Florida.

It was a last-second thing — Groce was predicted to go to Oklahoma all summer long, but at the last second, he switched. After all of the situations that have happened like that this offseason with the 2026 class, like Jacob Eberhart, the Sooners really needed a win on Tuesday.

They landed Jake Kreul, the defensive end from IMG Academy, and the No. 41 overall recruit in the 2026 class. Kreul could come in and help the Sooners as a true freshman. His technique when rushing the passer is great, allowing him to potentially be a third-down type of player as a freshman.

The tools are there; now he needs to put them all together, as well as put on some muscle. However, one of the more impressive aspects that he brings, which isn’t being discussed much, is that he is already trying to recruit players to switch from other SEC schools.

Jake Kreul is trying to get KJ Ford to flip

KJ Ford, one of the best recruits in the country, and a five-star defensive end from Duncanville, committed to Florida not long ago. He was interested in the Sooners, and Oklahoma wanted him, but the two sides couldn’t come together.

Shortly after committing to Oklahoma, Kreul tweeted at Ford and told him to come to Oklahoma.

Come On Home KJ.”

This, to me, says a ton about Kreul. He isn’t afraid to add some competition, and someone who could keep him from playing. That’s how confident he is in himself, and that’s how much he wants to win.

Maybe when National Signing Day arrives, the Sooners can flip Ford with Kruel’s help.
