Sooners projected to land several 2027 recruits which would only create more of a gap for their No. 1 class
Jim Nagy and the Sooners are doing some crazy work with the 2027 recruiting class.
The Oklahoma Sooners have used their on-field momentum to boost recruiting. Getting into the College Football Playoff has improved their 2027 class—they now have the No. 1 class. They can create a bigger gap from the rest, especially with projections that they may land more elite recruits.
Four-star 2027 CB Gabriel Osborne Jr., four-star 2027 LB Case Alexander, four-star 2027 CB Juju Johnson, four-star EDGE Taven Epps, and three-star DL Deven Robertson have all landed predictions this week to commit to the Sooners. Their additions could further strengthen Oklahoma’s depth and talent on defense for future seasons.
If there is one thing head coach Brent Venables can do, it’s recruit some amazing defensive prospects to the University of Oklahoma.
Oklahoma Sooners could land four four-star defenders and a great three-star defender for their 2027 class
With the No. 1 class in 2027, the Sooners are looking to keep that where it’s at. It’s still super early in the cycle, so anything could happen. However, with the momentum they have, it feels like the Sooners are destined to finish at least in the top three.
They have five-star offensive tackle Cooper Hackett, who may be one of the best prospects in the state of Oklahoma in a very long time. They also have some very, very good four stars around him, on both sides of the ball, too.
This week, they’ve been predicted and projected to land five more great recruits, four of them four stars, and the three-star could be a four-star by the time the cycle is over. Even if he doesn’t end up a three-star, the Sooners are great at taking three stars and turning them into high-level players in the SEC, like we have seen even this year with guys like Courtney, Guillory, and Taylor Wein.
Of course, Epps and Johnson are two players who have been predicted to land with the Soopners for some time now. However, more predictions from more recruiting insiders are starting to come in. Between Johnson and Osborne Jr., the two cornerbacks, they both have great size to be SEC cornerbacks. Alexander is an in-state linebacker, and Epps is helping continue the Sooners’ trend of recruiting well in California.
The Sooners are on a roll right now.
