Three of the Ole Miss Rebels' most impactful additions from the transfer portal this offseason were named to 247Sports' college football All-Transfer Team.
Interestingly enough, all three players come from the defensive side of the football. EDGE Princely Umanmielen, DL Walter Nolen and LB Chris Paul Jr. were all named to 247Sports' exclusive list.
Nolen, a transfer from Texas A&M, is the highest-rater player of the Rebels trio. Will Nolen will be a wrecking ball on the inside of the defensive line, Umanmielen is the perfect pairing as Ole Miss aims to contend for the College Football Playoff in 2024.
From 247: "…Umanmielen represents a significant step forward on the defensive side of the ball for an Ole Miss team on the verge of College Football Playoff contention. Nolen is the highest-rated of the three as more of an interior lineman, and he headlines the Rebels' top-ranked transfer class."
Ole Miss and Ohio State were the only two programs with three players featured on the All-Transfer team. In fact, no other school had more than two players on either side of the ball.
Everybody knows what to expect from the Rebels' lethal offensive attack led by quarterback Jaxson Dart and Co. in 2024. But defensive coordinator Pete Golding put together a masterclass in the offseason and has assembled one of the most talented units across the country.
