It didn't take long for Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze to respond to Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin's jab. The SEC Media Days have been spicy thus far, and Kiffin's willingness to call out Freeze's golf game was a funny moment on Monday. On Tuesday, Freeze had to get back at Kiffin.

The Tigers' head coach is looking to build upon a fantastic recruiting class for the 2025 season, but on-field wins are needed. Kiffin took the opportunity to have some fun at Auburn's struggles in recent years, and noted that he likes to antagonize Freeze.

Freeze explained more about their rivalry.

"I'm not on social media, but I love Lane. He makes me laugh. Loved his family for a long time. You know his brother, Chris, was with me at the beginning of my journey…I admire him…I couldn’t get away with all the social media but I admire him. I think it’s funny.”

Yesterday, Kiffin said: "I have a thing with him going back years ago when he posted a picture in response to me of some two-pound bass or something like that, so I've always posted bigger fish back towards him. It was nothing to do with his golf game."

"Which sounds he's doing amazing on, so, that's great for him."

Kiffin has beaten Freeze the two times they've faced off. The Rebels beat Liberty in 2022 and then Auburn in 2023. Unfortunately, these programs won't see each other once again in 2025.
