The dust has barely settled from the Ole Miss Rebels' thrashing of Georgia on Saturday and Lane Kiffin is already cashing in on the recruiting trail. Kiffin already had the Rebels in position to bring in another Top 20 recruiting class for 2025 prior to this weekend's SEC rivalry victory, but he's looking further into the future this week.
As of Monday morning, four star wide receiver recruit Zion Legree from Pensacola, FL committed to Ole Miss. Legree is a part of the 2026 recruiting class as he is still just a junior in high school, but he's extremely excited to get on campus. Legree was actually on-site for a visit with Ole Miss this past weekend, so he got to witness the Rebels' bludgeoning of the Georgia Bulldogs up close.
Legree chose Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin over a number of SEC rival schools that sent offers his way. By joining the Rebels, Legree said "no" to top SEC programs like Florida, Georgia, Auburn, Mississippi State, as well as elite football schools like Miami and Notre Dame.
Legree is officially the first commitment for Lane Kiffin in the 2026 class, so there's still plenty of work to do, but he's certainly a strong piece to build around. He apparently runs a forty-yard dash in the mid-4.3s, brings the ability to potentially play wide receiver or somewhere on the defensive side of the ball, and he's a fast-rising name on the recruiting circuit.
It's likely that Legree plays wide receiver for Ole Miss whenever he arrives on campus. And it's quite likely there will be a need at the position by 2026. Top tier talents Tre Harris, Juice Wells, and Jordan Watkins are all just about out of eligibility, so the wide receiver room will need some fresh faces to produce here soon.
Hopefully this is just the beginning to a new era of recruiting dominance for Lane Kiffin and the Rebels now that they've proved they can take down the best teams in the country like Georgia. Look for Kiffin to make some huge splashes on the recruiting trail in the coming weeks, continuing to build on the program's momentum.
