Ole Miss is making a compelling case to keep 2027 offensive tackle prospect Caden Moss, a top in-state talent, at home for his college career. Head coach Lane Kiffin is leading the charge to convince the four-star recruit from Jackson Academy to stay in Mississippi.

Standing at 6-foot-6 and 280 pounds, Moss is the top-ranked recruit in Mississippi for the 2027 class, the 28th overall prospect, and the fifth-best offensive tackle nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking.

During a recent visit to Oxford, Moss connected with offensive line coach John Garrison and analyst Chris James, who left a strong impression. “Camp was great. Coach Garrison and Coach James are great individuals who love football,” Moss shared with On3. “They treat me as a top priority and are very excited about my development.”

The pivotal moment came during Moss’s conversation with Kiffin, who emphasized the benefits of staying in-state. “He said if I stayed in the SIP, I’ll have the same opportunities as out-of-state schools,” Moss noted. “You can stay home, win, and get drafted.” Kiffin also highlighted the unique environment at Ole Miss beyond football.

With more than 20 offers, including Texas, Ohio State, and Alabama, involved, Moss' recruitment will only heat up after 2025. He's considered a strong lean to commit to the Rebels, but NIL and on-field results can swing feelings in a heartbeat.

The Rebels are focused on keeping Mississippi’s elite talent, like Moss, from leaving the state, emphasizing winning, development, and NFL prospects. As Moss’s star continues to rise, Ole Miss is making it clear he’s a priority and a perfect fit for their program. Whether he’ll become the next standout at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium remains to be seen.

Nuc Sports wrote this in a scouting report of Moss' background, character, and on-field abilities.

He has excellent feet at 6’5” 275 pounds. He has a rare combination of strength and power, making him a monster presence at the line of scrimmage. Additionally, his football IQ is incredibly high giving him a distinct advantage at such a young age. All of these attributes helped him earn his five-star rating from NUC Sports.

The 2027 prospect is now being recruited by some of the top college football programs in the country. His future looks bright, and it seems likely that he will gain even more recognition and success in the future as he continues to grow and mature. Jackson Academy should be proud to have him as a student, and he is sure to go far in his collegiate career.

Off the field, Caden sets a great example for the youth. He is a leader both in the locker room and in the community as a mentor and role model to younger student athletes. He is also involved in a number of community outreach programs, and he works hard to ensure a bright future for the communities around him.
