On Monday, it was announced by Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett 2027 four-star quarterback Keegan Croucher has narrowed his recruiting focus down to three programs. The Cheshire Academy (Conn.) signal caller has cut his list down to Ole Miss, Oregon, and Penn State.
The 6-foot-4, 205 pound prospect is ranked as the No. 10 quarterback in the 2027 class and Connecticut’s No. 2 overall junior. He is ranked as the 125th overall recruit in 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Last season, Croucher finished with First-Team All-NEPSAC honors. In eight games, he threw for 2,052 yards and 21 touchdowns. As a freshman, he was electric – throwing for 2,934 yards and 31 touchdowns.
Keegan Croucher broke down his Top 3 with Rivals.
“They jumped out right away. I really like their offense a lot, the coaching staff is awesome. They have a top offense every year,” Croucher said about Ole Miss. “Everyone showed great hospitality while I was down there and even when I left. I’m in constant contact with them. I can definitely see myself developing and playing in their program.
“What I like about Penn State a lot is that they build the offense around the QB. I’ve been there 4 times now, and I know a lot of the people in the program,” Croucher said. “I’m in constant contact with them as well. It is also only a 4 hour drive from my hometown.
“The offense speaks for itself. What they’ve been able to do at the QB position is amazing. Oregon always brings in a top recruiting class year in year out,” Croucher said. “I’ve only been there once, but while I was there it was incredible to see everything they have to offer.”
247Sports’ Greg Biggins gives his scouting report on the four-star prospect.
“Intriguing three-sport athlete who also plays basketball and baseball and is a legitimate prospect as a pitcher. Had a very productive freshman year, throwing for 2,934 yards and 31 touchdowns with just three interceptions. He’s a big strong kid with a projectable 6-4, 190 pound frame that we can easily see carrying another 20-25 pounds or so when he’s playing in college. Has a live arm and easy velocity, can get the ball down the field with ease without a big windup. Strong mechanically with a tight release and can throw from different arm angles. Shows good mobility in the pocket, can feel pressure and either climb the pocket or escape outside and make plays off-script. Has a really nice all around game and looks like one of the better pure throwers in the ’27 class. Projects as a high Power 4 prospect who should be recruited at the national level.”
A top Ole Miss assistant and former NFL coach has Ole Miss in a great spot here.
“I’ve gotten really close to the coaching staff in the past six months. I’ve gone down there twice, including a four-day visit. I really like what they’ve done with their offense. The addition of coach Joe [Judge] last year — having that NFL guy with experience and knowledge — is something colleges don’t usually get.”
“I can commit any time, but most likely after the season,” Croucher said. “The biggest thing when I commit is who I have the best relationship with and where I get the best development as a player. I want a place that feels like home.”
