Lane Kiffin and his staff still have their work cut out for them if they want to put together a top tier 2026 recruiting class. Official visits are wrapping up in less than two weeks, which means it's crunch time for several top talented targets for Ole Miss.

The Rebels are firmly in the mix for several blue chips in SEC territory, but one player Kiffin shockingly has Ole Miss in good position to potentially land here soon is Jerquaden Guilford–a wide receiver from Big Ten country.

Jerquaden Guilford, Four Star WR Recruit could land with Ole Miss

Jerquaden Guilford–a fringe four star recruit from Fort Wayne, Indiana–was committed to Penn State until February of this year, but when he reopened his recruitment major programs from all around the country pursued him immediately. Guilford has garnered well over 20 scholarship offers from several top schools, and he's risen quickly from barely rated as a three star recruit last year to Top 500 player in the nation. It seems the recruiting services were a bit late and still far too low on him.

The reason it's shocking that Lane Kiffin has Ole Miss in the mix here late is that the Rebels didn't even offer him until extremely late in the process here in May. However, that didn't stop Jerquaden Guilford from including the Rebels in his official top four schools, and now he's set to visit officially with Ole Miss here soon.

Jerquaden Guilford will be visiting with Ole Miss this weekend (June 13-14). His visit with Kiffin and company comes just a week after he visited Michigan. Guilford's final official visit will be next weekend June 20th with Ohio State.

Indiana was considered the in-state favorite immediately following his decommitment from Penn State, but with the late push from Ole Miss, Ohio State, and Michigan it seems more likely that he's going to land with one of those three options.

Ohio State already has four wide receiver commits for the 2026 class, so that landing spot seems unlikely. Michigan only has one, but they're also not exactly a program that likes to feature the wide receiver position at all. There's real reason to believe Ole Miss might steal Guilford away from the Big Ten powerhouses.

When Guilford considers the offense that he could play in with the Rebels that loves to feature a high-flying passing attack, that likely helps Ole Miss out quite a bit. Yes, Jaxson Dart is gone, but Lane Kiffin's offensive system and four star phenom quarterback Austin Simmons are still in town. The Rebels just sent both Tre Harris and Jordan Watkins on to the NFL (rounds two and four). The reasons for Guilford to choose Ole Miss are quite evident. If the visit goes well this weekend Kiffin might just have his future WR1 committed to the Rebels here soon.
