Ole Miss just brought in the 16th ranked recruiting class in the country this past cycle and now they've already landed commitments from five high pedigree recruits in the past 60 days. Lane Kiffin and company are set on taking their recruiting to new heights this offseason, hoping to build a true monster of a class this year through both high school and Transfer Portal recruiting.
As official visits and a flurry of likely commitments are just around the corner this summer, the Ole Miss Rebels are closing in on the most important defensive recruiting target in years. Hopefully Lane Kiffin can close the deal.
Deuce Geralds, Four Star DL Recruit
Deuce Geralds–a highly rated four star defensive line recruit from Suwannee, Georgia– has been considered a top 100 recruit in the 2026 recruiting class for years now with nearly 60 scholarship offers under his belt.
Ole Miss has been targeting Geralds for quite sometime and now somehow finds themselves in the final few schools this elite defensive line talent is considering. Geralds announced his final official visits list this week: May 30 (LSU), June 6 (Ole Miss), June 13 (Oregon), June 20 (Ohio State). Ole Miss clearly has their work cut out for them given the remain recruiting powerhouses involved, but Lane Kiffin and his staff are going all in.
Why 60 offers? Why all the hype surrounding Deuce Geralds from so many top programs?
Geralds has tallied nearly 200 tackles and around 20 sacks in the last two seasons alone, proving to be one of the most productive defensive linemen in high school football history. And he's not just impressive on defense either.
At 6'1", 275 pounds Geralds is a freak athlete who can also add value as a runner and receiver. He's averaged six yards per carry and scored 14 touchdowns on 77 offensives touches over the last two seasons. Ole Miss fans could rightly expect him to play the JJ Pegues role as both a monstrous defensive lineman and short yardage specialist on offense.
Landing this kind of player would not only bring excitement and familiarity in a role that Ole Miss fans have grown to love, but also prove something crucial for Lane Kiffin once and for all. This recruiting win would finally show that Kiffin and his staff can build their trenches via high school recruiting instead of just the Transfer Portal.
Kiffin has brought in immensely talented transfer players like Walter Nolen, JJ Pegues, Princely Umanmielen (along the edge), and many more. Landing Deuce Geralds would mark the beginning of a new brand of strong defensive foundation that Ole Miss could build around for years.
Can Ole Miss actually land this level of talent on defense? Ohio State certainly looks to be leading late, but the Rebels are definitely truly in it here.
The Rebels were one of the first programs in on Geralds way back in April of 2022. They immediately had him in for an unofficial visit all those years ago and have been chasing after his services hard ever since.
Walter Nolen and JJ Pegues are now gone. Zxavian Harris and William Echoles may be able to step up in the short term. But Deuce Geralds is the defensive future. Let's hope Kiffin has some magic closing skills up his sleeve here as his official visit approaches.
Jaxson Dart already climbing the depth chart at Giants OTAs making some phenomenal plays just like he did for Ole Miss
The New York Giants opened up their OTAs to the media on Wednesday and the player everyone wanted to see did not disappoint. Yes, the Giants' brass has insisted that the former Ole Miss Rebels star quarterback turned first round pick Jaxson Dart is not going to be rushed onto the field, but he's certainly […]
