The one thing has separated Ole Miss from many of the best teams in the nation all year long. No, it's not their elite offense, which is fantastic by itself. It's the unbelievable, unstoppable force that is the Ole Miss Rebels' pass rush.

Through seven games Ole Miss already had 24 sacks, ranking 7th in the nation. They had even more impressive pass rush pressure marks per game. But against Oklahoma on Saturday Ole Miss and their ridiculous quartet of pass rush monsters tallied a total of nine sacks. That brings their season total up to 33 on the year, which as of this writing is the most by any power conference team in all of college football.

Thanks to those nine sacks, most of them coming late as Ole Miss' pass rush attack couldn't be stopped at all, Ole Miss defeated Oklahoma 26-14, allowing exactly zero points on the Sooners' final seven drives of the game.

How did that happen? Elite playmakers along the entire defensive front.

The most impressive performance came from true sophomore star edge defender Suntarine Perkins. He tallied 11 tackles, three sacks, and five total tackles for loss. Perkins was everywhere, all game long.

Perkins wasn't the only dominant force for the Rebels. One of the best 2025 NFL Draft prospects on the team is Princely Umanmielen, and when it mattered most he came up two huge sacks. The one sack featured in the post below highlights his incredible burst, bend, and finish that has NFL scouts salivating.

Walter Nolen didn't tally many official stats, but his presence was felt pressuring up the middle and along the outside in pass rush all day. Chris Paul Jr., a star emerging as one of the best off-ball linebackers in the game contributed in pressure situations as well, tallying 12 tackles to go along with that.

But one of the most fun players on the team, and perhaps the MVP of the game against Oklahoma was JJ Pegues. He not only tallied a half dozen tackles, three for a loss, and two sacks, but he also ran in a rushing touchdown too.

JJ Pegues now has five rushing touchdowns on the year on top of his double-digit tackles for loss.

Ole Miss finished their dominant day against Brent Venables' Oklahoma Sooners with 15 total tackles for loss, nine sacks, and allowed just 182 total passing yards on 31 pass attempts. The team is now allowing less than six yard per pass attempt on the year, ranking inside the top ten among all FBS teams.

If Ole Miss' elite pass rush continues playing this well throughout their SEC schedule they might just be able to run the table and force their way back into the College Football Playoff.
