It's been a really impressive start to the 2024 season for the Ole Miss Rebels. So impressive that it's impacted their 2025 schedule.

After beating Wake Forest on Saturday by a score of 40-6, the Demon Deacons have reportedly chosen against playing in 2025, according to Action Network's Brett McMurphy.

Not only is Wake Forest canceling the game, they will have to pay a $1 million cancellation fee to Ole Miss. Sure, things didn't go well on Saturday, but is it worth paying $1 million to get out of it?

The 12 team playoff allows you to lose non-conference games and still make it, whereas it was very difficult to do so. Wake Forest didn't see the value in keeping the game and that creates a hole in the schedule.

The Rebels 2025 non-conference schedule currently includes Georgia State, The Citadel and Tulane. Will they try to add a high-profile matchup to round out the schedule? That could come if they barely miss the playoff due to scheduling.
