Ole Miss Rebels hosting perfect Pete Golding defender via transfer portal, stealing him away from SEC rival
Ole Miss is already closing in on landing Kayin Lee, a star cornerback transfer from the Auburn Tigers
The Ole Miss Rebels are still in the middle of pursuing a national championship thanks to the unbelievable efforts of quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, Pete Golding and his staff, and a constantly improving defense. That doesn’t mean they aren’t working towards building an even brighter future for the program right now too.
The Rebels are working hard to land huge wins via the transfer portal every single day, and it looks like they could be adding the perfect Pete Golding defensive back here soon.

For those unfamiliar with him, Kayin Lee has now played nearly 1,600 snaps for the Auburn Tigers, defending more than a dozen passes, grabbing three interceptions, and allowing a passer rating when targeted below 70 through his first three collegiate seasons. He’s an extremely talented SEC starter, and Ole Miss would instantly improve if they can get him.
He’s reportedly visiting with Ole Miss on Saturday, but the Rebels and Pete Golding have quite the challenger also vying for his services. He’s set to visit with Ohio State on Sunday Jan. 4, so hopefully Ole Miss wraps their visit up with a strong offer.
The Ole Miss Rebels most definitely offer a clearer path to significant playing time for Lee (due to likely departures/graduations), who only has one season of eligibility remaining. Also, now that Ole Miss is competing deeper into the College Football Playoff than Ohio State is this year, they have a better national championship selling point for Lee than ever before in Oxford.
Pete Golding loves aggressive, disciplined cornerbacks who play bigger than their size. Lee fits that description perfectly. Hopefully Ole Miss and the Rebels staff can seal the deal here and bring in the perfect cornerback transfer, stealing him away from Auburn’s underrated defense.
