Ouachita Parish (La.) defensive lineman Dylan Berymon announced Wednesday he would be taking a visit to Ole Miss this weekend when the Rebels host the Arkansas Razorbacks.

The 6-foot-2, 315 pound prospect has been committed to Texas since June, but is heading to Oxford, Miss., to check out Lane Kiffin and his Top-20 program.

The unofficial trip for Berymon continues a trend for Longhorn defensive line commits taking visits elsewhere. Corey Wells recently tripped to Auburn with his brother and James Johnson visited Miami for its opening-season win versus Notre Dame.

Dylan Berymon recently revealed how he committed to the Texas coaching staff.

“Shoot I was just happy. If y’all haven’t seen it yet, I did it different,” Berymon said. “We had karaoke and I was just sitting at the table thinking about it. I wasn’t gonna do it, but I was just sitting at the table thinking like ‘if I do this today, there’s bookoo people up in here’. So I was going to do a little dance. I’m in a youth frat group called Theta Mu, we’re Omegas. So I did a choppa style dance and then after that I said I’m gonna play BigXthaPlug to Texas and I just did it like that.”

Being from Louisiana, Berymon is still hearing from LSU and respects the Tigers’ program.

“I love LSU, I grew up wanting to be a Tiger, that was my dream school. When I started getting recruited by other bigger schools in better cities, I fell in love with going [and] exploring other cities and states. I feel like LSU is a home school for me and I want to get out of Louisiana. It’s nothing LSU did to me or nothing I love LSU, it’s just me being in Louisiana, I wanna get out.”

Ole Miss defensive line coach Randall Joyner is heading up this recruitment.

The 96th overall prospect, No. 13 defensive lineman, and 4th-ranked prospect from the Pelican State will almost certainly be keeping an eye on Ole Miss’ deep front line. Transfers Da’Shawn Womack and Princewill Umanmielen joined a loaded group up front – featuring Zxavian Harris, Kam Franklin, William Echoles, Jam Brown, and Kam Beavers.

Joyner has had a great run of talent since being hired by Kiffin. He has put several players in the NFL and most recently had a first round pick in Walter Nolen. Princely Umanmielen was taken in the third-round and JJ Pegues was drafted in the sixth.

The Rebels have done a great job in the portal and getting the most out of dudes quickly. But, as evident by this year’s group, the staff has also done a nice job of stockpiling talent via the high school route as well.
