Three Ole Miss Rebels earn Preseason All-American honors

College football season is right around the corner. For the Ole Miss Rebels the excitement of the 2024 season comes with the most anticipation in program history.

There has never been an Ole Miss team with as much talent as the current Rebels squad has. Head coach Lane Kiffin has assembled a beautiful mix of returnees and transfer portal additions which has created sky-high expectations for the fall.

The level of talent at Ole Miss has already raised eyebrows across the country. Long-time college football expert Phil Steele is the latest to recognize this special roster as he named three Rebels as Preseason All-Americans.

Steele, famous for his annual College Football Preview magazine, named wide receiver Tre Harris, tight end Cade Prieskorn and defensive tackle Walter Nolen to this esteemed group of college football stars.

Harris was slotted the highest of the Ole Miss trio earning second-team honors while Prieskorn and Nolen each received third-team nods.

If that isn't enough to satisfy Ole Miss fans, Steele also released his Preseason All-SEC teams which featured a whopping 11 Rebels. Here is how he broke it down:

First-Team All-SEC

WR Tre Harris
TE Cade Prieskorn
DT Walter Nolen

Second-Team All-SEC

WR Juice Wells
CB Isaiah Hamilton

Third-Team All-SEC

DT JJ Pegues
DE Princely Umanmielen
S John Saunders

Fourth-Team All-SEC

QB Jaxson Dart
LB Chris Paul Jr.
WR Jordan Watkins

Dart feels significantly undervalued by Steele, but perhaps it only serves as fuel to his fire as a Heisman dark horse. There is no doubt Ole Miss has the talent to vie for a national title in 2024, but it will be up to Kiffin to turn a Rebels roster full of individual talent into a cohesive unit with a championship mentality.
