Bill Belichick wasted no time.

The former New England Patriots head coach has already started recruiting since taking the job as North Carolina's new head coach.

Belichick and the Tar Heels have sent an offer to University of Pennsylvania transfer Malachi Hosley.

The running back posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, confirming the news.

Hosley spoke with 247 Sports about the possibility of Belichick joining UNC.

"I think he's what the program needs," he said. "I can't wait to meet him on my visit. He is a winner and he's coached the best and knows what it takes to win because he will bring that NFL mentality, and he has great plan."

The sophomore finished the 2024 season at Penn with 191 carries for 1,192 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns along with 12 receptions for 89 receiving yards.

And this tactic Belichick is using is one that he has done in the past.

He doesn't like to go for the big, flashy players. Instead, he likes to focus on individuals who he sees a lot of promise in.

Just look at his past in New England. Tom Brady was a sixth round pick and Julian Edelman was a seventh round pick. These are just a few examples of players he picked right out of the draft, but there are others who came in as undrafted free agents, and some where the start of their career wasn't successful, but Belichick helped them turn it around.

And that's what he plans to do with Hosley and the entire program at UNC.
