After a slow start to the recruiting calendar over summer, the Oregon Ducks have adjusted to the heat. Not long after landing five-star tackle Immanuel Iheanacho and getting into the race for five-star Anthony Jones, the Ducks nabbed receiver Jalen Lott. The Texas Longhorns legacy is the 14th-best player in the 2026 class and is considered to be a foundational piece for an offense.
Oregon continues to pluck talent from Texas with surprising effectiveness. The 6-foot, 170-pound playmaker was recruited by Ra'Shaad Samples. He fits the mold of Evan Stewart.
Lott was viewed as a finishing piece for Oregon's receiver efforts. With three in their pocket but a lack of proven production on the 2026 depth chart, Lott figures to be an impact freshman. Here's what On3 projects for him.
"Lott has had an incredibly productive three seasons of high school football. Texas has some of the best high school football in the nation, so it’s probably a safe bet we’ll see him make an impact at some point during his college career at Oregon.
Looking all the way ahead to 2026 season, the wide receiver picture is a bit murky. Dakorien Moore should still be on the roster and he’s had all the expectations placed on him ahead of his true freshman year. Justius Lowe, Kyler Kasper and Jurrion Dickey will all have eligibility remaining, while Gary Bryant Jr. and Malik Benson will play their final seasons of college football. Will redshirt freshmen Jeremiah McClellan and Dillon Gresham make some noise in 2025? Even looking ahead to this season, there are so many questions we just don’t have answers to yet."
Add in 6-foot-6 four-star tight end Kendre Harrison and it's easy to imagine this Ducks supporting cast playing fast and having fun despite their youth. Adding a veteran in the portal probably makes sense, but it's not as if the Ducks need to go big-game hunting.
Littered with top 100 talents all over, Lanning should field a great unit in the coming years. The question that remains is at quarterback, and we'll see if Dante Moore is the right point guard to guide them.
