The Oregon Ducks were considered major underdogs in the chase for Tennessee four-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman, trailing SEC and regional threats like Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Ohio State. But this week, the 2027 prospect from Brentwood Academy made Dan Lanning's job a lot easier for next season by committing to his program early.

Bowman is the first wide receiver to commit to Oregon for the 2027 recruiting cycle and the third to join the program since Ross Douglas took over as coach, replacing Junior Adams, who departed to coach for the Dallas Cowboys.

Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 170 pounds, Bowman ranks as the No. 49 overall prospect, No. 10 wide receiver, and No. 2 player in Tennessee per the 2027 Rivals300. In his 2024 sophomore season, he recorded 56 receptions for 1,023 yards and 8 touchdowns, contributing to his team’s 9-4 record.

Oregon continues to secure elite wide receiver talent, following the commitment of 5-star+ wide receiver Dakorien Moore in the 2025 cycle, who was the top-ranked player at his position.

Rivals’ Director of Scouting and Rankings, Charles Power, provides an in-depth analysis of Bowman’s skills, highlighting the high-caliber talent Oregon is adding to its roster.

Bowman is a prospect who we initially considered as an athlete or a corner, and has really grown into a full-fledged receiver over the past year. First off we were really impressed with the strides he made, had a very good sophomore season at Brentwood Academy: went for over 1,000 yards, eight touchdowns. Showed the ability to affect all areas of the field. I think he has the long speed to separate and also some encouraging route running chops early on along with just wiggle and just his ability to pull away from defensive backs. Thought he caught the ball well. Additionally I think the ball skills look solid, especially for a guy who’s kind of growing into being a receiver. But the growth that he showed was really encouraging. Getting to see him in person at the Under Armour Nashville camp in the offseason also helped us get a better grip on kind of where he stacks up in the receiver group nationally.
