Dan Lanning suspends former five-star receiver ahead of the 2025 season
Former five-star receiver suspended by Dan Lanning and his staff just weeks away from week one.
The bad news keeps coming for Oregon Ducks fans as they forge along in fall camp. Shortly after sources close to the team reported that five-star true freshman safety Trey McNutt broke his leg in practice, reports came out of another former five-star who the Ducks will now be without.
Multiple sources have reported that Oregon wide receiver Jurrion Dickey is currently not with the team and has been suspended indefinitely. According to Max Torres of On3, the separation is expected to be temporary.
Team insiders say Dickey has struggled to maintain positive relationships with teammates and staff since arriving in Eugene. Tensions reportedly came to a head during an incident in the receiver’s room on Sunday. Details surrounding what led to the confrontation remain unclear, but sources claim it is not the first time Dickey has been involved in disputes during his two full seasons at Oregon.
Dickey’s production has been limited on the field — he has recorded just two receptions for 14 yards in his career. Coming out of high school, he was ranked as the No. 18 overall player and the No. 2 wide receiver in the 2023 class by 247Sports.
With the loss of wide receiver Evan Stewart to a season-long injury, Dickey was a candidate for playing time this fall and was expected to take a leap entering his redshirt sophomore season.
The Oregon Ducks are set to take on Montana State in their home opener on August 30th.
