The Oregon Ducks are apparently going to get one more opportunity to court the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2026 recruiting class, elite offensive lineman Jackson Cantwell. It's been a heated recruiting process with a ton of competition, but a final trip to Eugene will be one last opportunity to try and close the deal.

There's a few things that Cantwell is apparently looking for, and it could make all the difference.

Cantwell is drawing close to making his decision, and his trip to Eugene next weekend could be the last visit he takes before locking in a commitment.

“It’s an opportunity to check out Eugene one more time and to make sure Oregon is what I last remember it as,” Cantwell told On3. “Also I haven’t seen a spring practice up there yet and seen a few other minor details, so it would be good to do so.”

“Great culture, great head coach, and they win and develop my position,” he added.

Cantwell isn't a make or break commitment for the Ducks, but they'd obviously be thrilled to land him. Oregon is also heavily involved in the No. 2 overall recruit and fellow elite lineman Immanuel Iheanacho, while also attempting to hold on to the fourth-ranked offensive lineman in the class in Kodi Greene

If Dan Lanning, who Cantwell has previously said is his favorite coach, can pull off the commitment for the top player in the country, it would add a major crown jewel to an already impressive recruiting class that he's putting together.

Cantwell recently said that he could be getting close to announcing his commitment. If Oregon can make another strong impression, they should be in a decent position to make a huge recruiting statement.
