Building a college football roster never stops. The recruiting trail is always in full swing, and the transfer portal has become a crucial element to filling out roster holes in short order.
Dan Lanning and the Ducks have done just that, bringing in numerous impact transfer players that will plug into the starting lineup from day one, and will immediately contribute to the team's plans in 2025. The Ducks are drawing a lot of praise for their offseason moves, with their latest signing providing a clearer picture of what next year's offensive line will look like.
Oregon has brought in nine players via the transfer portal this offseason in their fifth-ranked transfer portal class. For comparison, the four teams that rank above them brought in quite a few more players than Oregon's nine.
Much like Dan Lanning's approach to the 2025 recruiting class, Oregon was clearly after quality over quantity. The 2025 recruiting class finished with the fourth-ranked class on On3, but Oregon's 19 recruits had the highest average grade in the country.
This transfer portal class is more of the same. Oregon didn't go after massive amounts of transfers, but the guys that they brought in were highly-coveted additions that will fill immediate needs.
Emmanuel Pregnon, an interior offensive lineman that was previously at USC, is the latest. The big guy hasn't allowed a sack since 2023 over his last 1,066 pass blocking snaps, according to PFF.
The offensive line is sending three talented players to the NFL in left tackle Josh Conerly Jr., right guard Marcus Harper II, and right tackle Ajani Cornelius. This offseason, Oregon has patched all three of those holes. Next year's offensive line looks set to feature Nevada transfer Isaiah World at left tackle, Pregnon and left guard, returning center Iapani "Poncho" Laloulu, potentially Dave Luli stepping into a starting role at right guard, and potentially Texas State transfer Alex Harkey at right tackle.
Lanning promised to do everything he could to bring the most talented players possible to Eugene, and through high school recruiting and the transfer portal, he's doing a terrific job.
Oregon’s toughest test next season just got a whole lot harder with Penn State’s latest news
I thought we were done with those guys.
