The connection of Dante Moore to Dakorien Moore is one that could blossom into a truly special pair. With Dante set to take over at quarterback and drawing huge praise, and with Dakorien stepping in as the country's No. 1 wide receiver recruit as an explosive do-everything weapon, the two have absolutely dominant upside.
A week after Dakorien said without blinking that he thinks Dante is going to win the Heisman Trophy this year, Dante has his own big words of praise for the young playmaker.
When asked about Dakorien, Malik Benson, and Cooper Perry, Dante spent plenty of time on the true freshman.
"They're dogs for sure. Everybody sees Dakorien, sees what he's done. He's doing what's advertised. He's true to his talent," Dante started, "He's for sure been a guy that's come in—Texas football's different, I trained down there in Dallas. I got to see how they practice out there. They do spring ball. It's serious out there. So him coming in, he already had the mindset of competing really well. Real fast, he's really good with his feet, got good hands of that nature. He's for sure–what people are saying is true. He's for sure legit."
It sounds like the young playmaker's elite high school talent is translating to the college level early, at least during practices.
Evan Stewart returns as the veteran statesman in the room, but there is nobody in the room with the explosiveness and pure upside of Dakorien Moore. My bold prediction is that he starts the year as one of the top-3 wide receivers, making his mark felt early and often.
This duo and their budding chemistry is one of the biggest storylines to watch through the spring and summer, but the early reports are that Dakorien Moore is as advertised. If the coaches are the most important people to earn the respect of for a wide receiver, the quarterback is second.
Oregon might be getting an answer sooner than later about their future with the top recruit in the country
The No. 1 recruit might be nearing a decision.
