By now, Ducks fans should know that the Oregon Ducks landed the top wide receiver in the 2025 recruiting class in Dakorien Moore. He's an elite weapon that will make his splash with the Ducks sooner than later.
Moore locked in with Oregon and never looked back, and clearly he thinks incredibly highly of his new quarterback, Dante Moore. On the Pivot Podcast with Ryan Clark, Dakorien said that he believes his new quarterback is primed to make a major impact this year as the new presumed starter for the Ducks.
In high school, Moore played with an elite quarterback recruit in Keelon Russell, who went on to commit to Alabama. Moore was asked to compare Russell to his new quarterback, and he took a firm stance.
"I think he will win the Heisman this year," he said.
"You think the quarterback at Oregon's going to win the Heisman?" Clark confirmed.
"Yes."
Dakorien spent time fielding other questions about his play style, what skills will translate, what he needs to work on, and about the program as a whole. His maturity at only 17 years old is palpable. He seems ready to work, learn, and understands that he's coming in as a freshman playing at a new level of competition.
"I'd say my ball skills," Moore said about his best talent. "Just being able to go get the ball, regardless of where it is, when the ball leaves the quarterback hands. That's the one thing that I have that you can't compare me to nobody."
When asked what he needs to work on, Moore was honest and humble, saying he doesn't know what he doesn't know yet. He hasn't been through it. To him, the key will be staying open and receptive, asking guys that have been around, and being willing to learn.
Oregon has a veteran wide receiver that surprisingly elected to return instead of declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft like many thought he would in Evan Stewart. Moore would be wise to get in his hip pocket, learn from him, and seek wisdom that he can grow through.
Moore has a bright future in front of him, and clearly believes that his quarterback is a great talent. At some point, we'll get the Moore to Moore connection for a touchdown that might be the first of many.
