The Oregon Ducks got a major boost early in the offseason when wide receiver Evan Stewart decided to surprisingly return to Eugene for the 2025 college football season. In doing so, an offense that will look very different will have one crucial, explosive playmaker back to bring a veteran presence to the wide receiver room.

Stewart is full of talent, but has yet to fully put it together. A to Z's Travis May has put together his way-to-early 2026 first round mock draft, and has Stewart going in the first round to the Los Angeles Chargers.

This coming season, there's a lot to be excited about for Ducks fans. Dante Moore is slated to take over at quarterback, and he has an incredible deep ball with lethal placement. He has the tools to take the country by storm. On the receiving end of those deep shots, Stewart's prowess down the field is a blend of speed, body control, and a natural ability to separate. The two will form a dangerous combination.

With a strong season, Stewart going in the first round is certainly not out of the question. Add in another year in Will Stein's system, Stewart should be the unquestioned leading receiving threat for Moore and the Ducks.

If Stewart does go first round, pairing him up with former Ducks great Justin Herbert would be a nostalgic fit for Ducks fans, and a strong addition to an offense that landed Ladd McConkey in the 2024 NFL Draft. Ladd is a slippery route runner, while Stewart would give them a downfield threat that they are currently lacking.

The Oregon offense is going to be very different, but they have all the pieces to still be one of the best units in the country. Stewart has every chance to be great.
