Oregon is set to lose a ton of talent to the NFL. Quarterback Dillon Gabriel, running back Jordan James, multiple linemen, and wide receivers Tez Johnson and Traeshon Holden are all off to the next level.
In a season with so much turnover, the Ducks get a pleasant surprise by a key playmaker electing to return to Oregon next season. Wide receiver Evan Stewart has elected to give it one more year at the college level.
Stewart is an incredible and explosive playmaker that lacked a little bit of consistency this season for the Ducks, but made his share of big time plays. On the season, he had 48 receptions for 613 yards and five touchdowns. Some game scripts simply didn't feature him, but Stewart had two games with over 100 receiving yards this season, including his best game coming against Ohio State in their first meeting with seven receptions, 149 receiving yards, and a touchdown. Now returning, Stewart will be the most familiar and experienced weapon for quarterback Dante Moore as he takes over as Oregon's QB1.
Oregon has their share of top recruits that will also look to make their mark in the passing game. Justius Lowe, in his sophomore season, had promising moments. He logged 21 receptions for 203 yards and a touchdown. The former 4-star recruit has been in Eugene for two seasons now.
Most notably, Oregon will welcome the top wide receiver recruit in the 2025 class, Dakorien Moore. The true freshman is explosive and elusive, and will likely have the opportunity to earn playing time early.
The wide receiver room will look very different, but bringing Stewart back into the fold is a massive win for head coach Dan Lanning and offensive coordinator Will Stein.
