The Oregon Ducks are fresh off a weekend that saw them log a road shutout for the first time in over 30 years and reach No. 1 in the AP Poll for the first time in over a decade, but the wins keep on rolling.

According to On3's Steve Wiltfong, Oregon is the early frontrunner to land the No. 1 overall player in the 2026 recruiting cycle, Edge rusher Zion Elee.

Obviously, the 2026 class is still a long ways away. Elee is going to see a ton of recruiting attention from the top programs in the country, but Oregon is once again demonstrating that they have what it takes to be considered a national powerhouse, both on and off the field.

"The defense, how they run their defense, and the position they would put me in and how I want to be and I want to play, it fits me," Elee told On3. "What makes them special is how they came from the Pac 12, came into the Big Ten, and started dominating. It shows that the coaching staff has made an immediate impact."

"They are setting the bar, but at the same time, other schools are popping up and starting to recruit me. Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Florida, Alabama have been hitting me up lately," he said.

Oregon currently has the No. 1 2026 recruiting class in the country, and the defensive front is well-represented. 4-stars Tony Cumberland, Tomuhini Topui, and Villami Moala are all already in tow with early commitments.

Elee, a 6'3" 220 lbs lean and athletic edge rusher, would add another elite piece to the puzzle as Oregon continues building out their 2026 recruiting class. There's still a long ways to go, but the Ducks seem to be firmly in the mix.
