Oregon has had to rely on the transfer portal to patch together their offensive line in recent years, and head coach Dan Lanning and the rest of the Oregon staff are clearly looking to change that.

Offensive Lineman Kodi Greene, a 4-star prospect from Mater Dei, is locked in as a core piece in their 2026 recruiting class, and Oregon isn't done there. Jackson Cantwell, the No. 1 overall prospect in the country according to On3, is narrowing down his recruiting. In his final six teams that he's considering, the Oregon Ducks are firmly in the mix. The other five teams

The other five schools that Cantwell is discussing are Michigan, Miami, Ohio State, Georgia, and Missouri. While Missouri might seem out of place, it's his home state school. Wide receiver Luther Burden III, the No. 1 wide receiver in the 2022 recruiting class, chose to stay in state with Missouri despite offers from all the other top schools.

As seems to be a common discussion in the recruiting trail, Oregon is competing with Ohio State and Michigan. The three Big Ten powerhouses are now embroiled in a fight for the top options in the country, year over year. With Oregon joining the conference, the arms race has been wildly entertaining to watch.

For Oregon, building a deep pipeline of talented linemen is incredibly important. If the 2026 class includes Greene and Cantwell, they'll be bringing in two cornerstone pieces for their offensive line that project to be multi-year starters and potentially top options in the country if they develop correctly.

The Ducks will be firmly trying to land Cantwell. With the early signing period for the 2026 recruiting class not taking place until next December, the recruiting process for the top options at this point is a marathon, not a sprint.
