It's been a long recruiting process for wide receiver Chris Henry Jr., who is ranked by some outlets as the top wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting class. The Mater Dei product has been long-committed to Ohio State, and it's clear he has a strong commitment to their new offensive coordinator and for wide receiver coach, Brian Hartline.
Oregon has been relentless for the 6-foot-5 receiver over the last year, hosting him multiple times. Apparently Oregon has been in constant contact with the elite recruit in hopes of flipping him away from their new Big Ten rivals.
Henry is the son of Chris Henry, the former Cincinnati Bengal. Junior has long roots in Ohio, and his bond and connection to the state is noteworthy. Still, Henry has yet to shut down his commitment, leaving the door cracked open for Oregon.
In the 2025 recruiting class, Oregon landed the top receiver in the country in Dakorien Moore. He'll be suiting up for the Ducks this fall. If Oregon is able to flip Henry, it will give the Ducks an unbelievable duo of young pass-catchers, while simultaneously hurting their top rival in the process.
For now, the Ducks hold the No. 3 ranked class in the country, behind USC at No. 2 and LSU at No. 1. The upcoming commitment announcement on May 5 from the nation's No. 1 quarterback, Jared Curtis, would be a tremendous boost to their recruiting haul. Either way, Oregon is once again contending to be one of the best recruiting schools in the country, with Dan Lanning leading the charge.
