Oregon got a quick verbal commitment from Washington native Kodi Greene last summer before he transferred down to play at powerhouse Mater Dei in California for his last two seasons of high school ball. Since then, his recruitment has gotten a little more interesting than the Ducks would have liked.
Greene is the 9th-ranked player in the 2026 recruiting class, and he's continuing to draw interest from Texas and USC, which is essentially in Mater Dei's backyard. After a recent trip up to Eugene, it sounds like Greene is still plenty excited about what the Ducks are doing.
“My visit was great!” Greene told On3. “They showed me nothing but love all weekend. This was the first time seeing the offensive line coaching style and I loved it. The practice was very organized, high intensity and efficient.
“What continues to impress me is what a great job Coach Terry and the Law Firm does every year developing the o-line and the consistency in the coaching staff," he added "The message continues to be that I’m the priority and they have shown it since day one.”
Greene is a polished and fluid mover with the size and length to be an impact offensive lineman. He's over 6-foot-6 and over 300 lbs going into his senior year of high school. He's the type of offensive lineman that might not take long to get up to speed. Oregon will fight to keep him in their class, and it sounds like Greene is still very interested.
“Like I’ve said since committing, it’s not gonna be easy to flip me,” Greene said. “My commitment has been strong since day one.”
Oregon is trying to build an elite recruiting haul in 2026, and Greene, who has long been a cornerstone of it, is one that they really need to hold onto.
