Oregon is nothing but an absolute wagon of momentum right now, on and off the field. Heading into National Signing Day, Oregon was ranked as the No. 7 recruiting class in the country. That is certainly no longer the case.
Oregon, so far, has kept all their top recruits in house, including the dramatic finish to 5-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson. Adding to their haul, head coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks have pulled off a pair of highly-coveted 5-star recruitings to continue their surge — quarterback Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele, and cornerback Na'eem Offord.
To make it even sweeter, Offord, On3's No. 12 ranked recruit in the country and the No. 3 cornerback, was previously committed to new Big Ten rival Ohio State before Oregon swooped in to snag him away.
Oregon is proving to be a powerhouse on the field and on the recruiting trail. Offord gives the Ducks a prized player in their secondary that becomes a potential cornerstone of their pass defense, after flipping Sagapolutele adds to an offensive haul that has the opportunity to be a core of this offense for years to come.
After the flip of Offord, Oregon sits at No. 2 in the recruiting rankings behind Alabama on On3's rankings. 5-star defensive linemen Jahkeem Stewart, who has been the topic of much discussion over the last two months, is still unsigned. The predictions out there have him going to USC, but Oregon has been squarely in the mix for him throughout the entire recruiting process. As we've learned today, nothing is ever a done deal until ink hits paper.
As Dan Lanning once said, the grass is damn green in Eugene.
