Oregon Ducks fans of a certain age are going to feel really old when they see what player is getting recruited by Bill Belichick

Time waits for no one. It is an unceasing, all-consuming thing. As a fan of sports, though, few things make me feel older than when I see the kid of an athlete I once watched play becoming an athlete of their own right.
That's what we're dealing with here. The son of former Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount has received his second Division 1 scholarship, and it's by new North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick. No, I'm not joking.
Blount Jr is still young, but he's already drawing eyes. While senior was a bruising running back that went on to have a long NFL career, the high school freshman that will be in the class of 2028 is a slender and athletic 5'11" speedster. According to his Instagram page, he's a free safety, cornerback, wide receiver, and "athlete." He sounds fast.
While it might seem early for Blount Jr. to be getting recruited, it begins to make much more sense when you link Coach Belichick to Blount. The running back suited up for Belichick in New England for two and a half seasons, including a memorable 2016 season that saw him rack up 1,161 rushing yards and a league-leading 18 rushing touchdowns.
Blount won three Super Bowls, two of which were with Belichick, Tom Brady, and the Patriots, one in his first season in 2014-15, and his second in his third season in 2016-17. The following season, Blount signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, who beat his former team in the Super Bowl that plenty of people remember most for the "Philly Special."
Belichick likely has an inside track to knowing the character and the work ethic of the kid. And while it makes us Ducks fans instantly feel old, it will be fun to watch the college football recruiting journey for the son of the former Oregon standout over the next few years.
