Oregon head coach Dan Lanning has once again made it clear that he’s not leaving Eugene anytime soon. In an interview with On3’s Chris Low, Lanning pushed back on the idea that he might be swayed by other programs, reaffirming his commitment to building Oregon into a national championship powerhouse.

Commitment to the Ducks

“I don’t know that will continue to happen,” Lanning told On3 about other schools trying to lure him away. “I’ve been very clear and adamant. I think a lot of coaches in those moments get quiet, but I’ve been very clear and adamant that I’m not going anywhere. A lot of coaches use that as an opportunity to say, ‘OK, I’m either going to get a big raise where I’m at,’ or maybe they really want that other job.

“I don’t want any other jobs. I’ve got the job that I want.”

Lanning’s declaration comes at a time when college football’s coaching carousel is as active as ever. As programs across the country make aggressive pushes to land top coaching talent, Lanning has become one of the most coveted names in the sport. But instead of entertaining other offers, the 39-year-old coach is doubling down on his long-term vision for Oregon.

Since arriving in 2022, Lanning has elevated the Ducks into a legitimate contender. His first season ended with a 10–3 record, followed by a 12–2 campaign and a Fiesta Bowl victory. In 2024, Oregon posted its best winning percentage in more than a century, strengthening the belief that the Ducks are inching closer to a national title.

For Lanning, success isn’t just about wins—it’s about sustaining a culture. He’s emphasized connection, accountability, and development, building a program that reflects his drive and loyalty. “We have everything we need here to win it all,” Lanning said. “It’s about finishing the job.”

Oregon fans have heard this message before, but Lanning’s conviction seems to deepen each time. His leadership, recruiting prowess, and energy have made him one of college football’s most respected young coaches.

While the spotlight will continue to shine on him, Lanning insists that his heart and focus remain on Eugene.
