Score Prediction: Will the Oregon Ducks keep their dominance at Autzen Stadium rolling or can Montana State shock Dan Lanning and his team

The Oregon Ducks should have enough to start the season with a home victory against Montana State.

The Oregon Ducks take on the Montana State Bobcats this Saturday at Autzen Stadium. It has been a long wait for Ducks fans, and we are eager to get the taste of last season’s tough playoff loss out of our mouths. A win against Montana State might be precisely what is needed.

Oregon is currently a 27.5-point favorite against Montana State, and it’s easy to see why. Even though Oregon is replacing 18 starters from the team’s 13-1 team from last season, the team is still absolutely loaded and primed for another playoff run.

The team will introduce a brand-new quarterback in Dante Moore. This will be the first time under head coach Dan Lanning that the team won’t have an experienced signal caller. An FCS opponent like Montana State is the perfect matchup for Moore to get his feet wet in this offense and build chemistry with his receivers.

While Montana State is a massive underdog, the team certainly deserves respect. The Bobcats are the second-ranked FCS team in the country and made the FCS National Championship last season but fell just short of winning the title. Head Coach Brent Vigen is 47-10 in his time with the Bobcats and always has his team ready to play.

Who Wins?

Alright, time for a prediction. While the Ducks are breaking in a new signal-caller, so is Montana State. Stanford transfer Justin Lamson is set to start Saturday at Autzen Stadium, and that is a positive thing for the Ducks. Lamson has played Oregon once before while at Stanford, and it did not go well. With his inability to pass consistently, I expect the Ducks’ defense to load up the box and make the Bobcat offense extremely one-dimensional.

I expect a Ducks win and a comfortable win at that. Ducks win 45-17.
